Main taxonomic groups of interest: Nematoda and (by chance) Tardigrada. Main geographical areas of the studies: the White Sea, High Arctic deep, boreal intertidal, mangroves of South-East Asia. He took part in a number of research cruises and coastal expeditions, mainly, in Northern Hemisphere. His scientific interests lie on the border between taxonomical and ecological studies of marine benthos with special interest to meiobenthic groups.
